Principle of ultrasound cleaning
High-energy sound waves are admitted into a liquid cleaning medium which fully surrounds the workpiece to be cleaned. Water with aqueous cleaning agent serves as the medium.
The sound waves excite the cleaning medium to vapour bubble formation. The bubbles implode. This process is referred to as cavitation. Cavitation blast the dirt particles or tears them from the surface, after which they become a part of the cleaning medium.
